I grew up around dogs and my Father was a stock agent in the Bay of Plenty. We had dogs and puppies of all varieties and sizes as I grew up and dogs still are a big part of my life.

I have a natural affinity with dogs. I enjoy their intelligence and mischievousness. They are true thinkers and can escape like Houdini, especially when you have definitely filled up the last hole. Yeah Right!

I respect their resilience and amazing natures. I love training them and their owners. I have been training privately in dog owner’s homes for ten years and have enjoyed every minute of it.

I look forward to meeting you and your dog in a training session or the many classes that will be available.

I am committed to having fun and being imaginative while being the best dog trainer possible!

Dog training courses are available on a one to one basis tailored to suit you needs

I am always meeting amazing dogs with owners who really care about their welfare.  Dogs are very resilient and they bounce back in the most difficult situations.

We need to be understanding but the best security you can give to your dog is daily structure and routines with plenty of firm commands keeping behaviour in check. This gives them the assurance they need that there is still a leader in the house wanting the very best from them.

So love with respect and firm assurance can get your dog through the bits in life that are  bumpy and unsettling.

STAY --

Next time you ask your dog to go down for a stay put a few treats in a pile a couple of feet away as well, after your command. Then when you release your dog form the stay you can let him have the extra treats in the other pile as a bonus reward for the stay. Make it fun for your dog to do the right thing and listen to what you are asking.

  • Be calm and patient when training.

  • Be consistent and train in short lessons.

  • Show your dog what you want instead of talking too much.

  • Use clear commands that you are sure your dog knows. If not teach the command first.

  • Have treats and plenty of praise or a favorite toy for rewards.
